The Calvert County Fair may have been a washout this year, but it didn’t stop TCLE from visiting Thomas Smith’s pipe-cleaner art display on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Thomas won first and third place for his amazing pipe-cleaner art. Way to go, Thomas!!!
Congratulations to Employee of the Quarter, Jamie McCreery!!! Jamie has really jumped in with both feet and embraced the TCLE Mission and Vision statements. After a meeting in her program area regarding the new initiatives to get participants involved in the community, Jamie was able to secure several new volunteer placements for our participants. She was able to utilize many of her own contacts in order to do so. This fit right in with the ideas that were discussed in the recent in-service training. While not only are these placements out in the community, the placements also fit directly in line with some of the preferences of the participants she is working with. Some of these placements include working at 2 different local marinas and a local animal rescue. Even though she hasn’t been able to secure enough placements to fill out an entire weekly schedule, this has not stopped her from finding other community integrated activities for her group to participate in. One place that the participants in her group really enjoyed was a recent trip to a local Alpaca farm. She has really embraced the TCLE vision statement and also her role at the VVII store. She has set a very high bar for other CLS groups moving forward, as TCLE works toward the Employment First initiative. Jamie, thanks so much for all of your hard work and dedication to meet TCLE’s mission!
